According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the number one reason identified for missing work is musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). MSDs are injuries or pain in the musculoskeletal system caused by trauma to an area, postural strain, repetitive movements, and overuse. Organizations are affected by employees with MSDs by reduced productivity, and employees face health issues such as strain, stress, and discomfort that continues a vicious cycle, potentially leading to more serious health concerns. Ergonomics is the study of human capabilities in relationship to work demands and helps employers solve potential work-related injuries before they even occur. Proper back support, proper neck support, less eye strain, proper foot support, proper fluidity of functionality, and other factors that are vital to efficient operations and overall employee job satisfaction.
The Ergonomics training course will identify ergonomic risk factors, recognize MSD signs and symptoms, and how to avoid injuries on the job.
